You know by now what the Philles are getting in Roy Oswalt. Let's take a look at what the Astros are receiving in return for their ace.
Lefty JA Happ was the runner up for rookie of the year last season to Chris Coghlan. He's a control pitcher that does not have blinding stuff but knows how to pitch. The biggest concern with Happ is his health. He has had arm issues including this season with a flexor-tendon injury. The Astros will have control of Happ for at least 4 more season and get him on the cheap in 2011.
The Astros flipped Phillies' prospect Anthony Gose to the Blue Jays for former Cardinals 1st round draft pick Brett Wallace. Wallace was rated the #27 prospect in baseball before the season by Baseball America. He is a 1B which should pretty much seal the exit of Lance Berkman from the Astros' organization. His plate discipline has not been great this season, but he is hitting .300 with 18 HR's at AAA. I would imagine he will be a September call-up unless Berkman gets traded by the deadline. I don't think Wallace will be a star, but I think he is the equivalent of Hunter Pence at 1B, solid but not spectacular. Obviously Wallace will be making little $$$ for about 4 seasons.
Jonathan Villar is a VERY raw SS prospect. He is at least 3 seasons away from the big leagues, and he is having a terrible season at A ball with 43 errors. So, now the Astros own two SS's (Giovanni Mirer) that are having bad seasons in the Sally League.
In conclusion, I think getting Wallace in this trade prevents it from being a disaster. I am still perplexed as to why the Astros had to include so much cash to the Phillies given the relatively low grade of prospects they received in return. I'll rate this trade a "5" on a scale from 1 to 10, but I don't think it will end up on this list:

The "awesomeness" of this video is off the charts....
