NFL Predictions

We are 24 hours away from the start of the NFL season, so it is time for me to go on the record with my NFL predicitions.

AFC Predicitions

AFC South: Indianapolis Colts- it should be a no brainer once again that the Indianapolis Colts are simply the best.  A healthy Peyton Manning and Dwight Freeney means no worse than a 12-4 mark and a division title.

AFC North: Baltimore Ravens- The addition of Anquan Boldin and TJ Houshmanzadeh should help balance out their offense.  There are some holes in the secondary until Ed Reed returns healthy.  Roethlisberger's suspension and questions about Carson Palmer's effectiveness for the Bengals gives Baltimore the nod in what should be a very close race.

AFC East: Miami Dolphins- The acquisition of Brandon Marshall gives this team a dominant receiving threat.  The closing schedule is incredibly easy.  This team already beat the Rex Ryan's Jets twice.  As long as Chad Henne does not kill them, they will win 10 games and this division.

AFC West: Oakland Raiders- I know I am going way out on a limb here, but I really like this team's defensive personnel.  They also finally have a competent QB in Jason Campbell.  I think the Chargers are going to miss Vincent Jackson and I am not convinced that they still have an elite defense.

Wildcard: New England Patriots - Brady to Moss should be enough until they figure out how to stop people on defense.

AFC Wild Card: Cincinatti Bengals- The defense is already good, and the offense has all the weapons to make Carson Palmer look good.  If Palmer plays better than average, they can win the whole thing.  With TO and Ochocinco around, at the very least they will not be boring.

NFC

NFC South: New Orleans Saints- The offense is the best in football, and the schedule is not all that challenging.  Perhaps the Atlanta Falcons can give them a run for their money, but this team is clearly a contender to repeat.  The running game could be much better than expected with the emergence of rookie Chris Ivory.

NFC North: Green Bay Packers- They should score more than any team in the NFL.  Even with no defense that should be good enough to win 11 games.  Aaron Rodgers seems destined to assault the single season record book.

NFC East: Dallas Cowboys- They have a very difficult road schedule.  The offensive line seems a bit shaky going into the season.  Still, this is the most talented team on paper in the NFL.  I think the defense carries this team while the Cowboys figure out whether they want to be a passing team or a running team.

NFC West: San Francisco 49ers- They are a QB away from being the dominant team in the NFC.  Their defense is the most physical in the conference.  They have drafted three OL over the last two years to try and become a power running team.  Michael Crabtree and Vernon Davis appear ready to become stars.  Again, it all comes back to the QB play as to whether they are a playoff team or a Super Bowl Champion.  They also have the coach below making speeches like this.

NFC Wild Card: Philadelphia Eagles - I am a believer in Kevin Kolb.  I am unsure about the Eagles OL or DL but I think Kolb will be a good QB.  Check out this AWESOME old school Eagles rap video.

NFC Wild Card: Minnesota Vikings- I think Brett Favre will be plenty good again this year, but he is clearly down a few weapons as the Vikings enter the season.  This team will still be a tough out when the playoffs begin.  Adrian Peterson could threaten 2,000 yards rushing this year.  Here's more bad rap.

Look at this weak sauce from Stephen F. Austin football players faking injuries against Texas A&M last weekend.
