T Minus 24 Hours to College Football Season

I guess it's about time for me to start making some predicitions on the upcoming college football season.  I won't bore you with team-by-team predicitions.  I'll just focus on the champions in each conference and tomorrow I'll hit the local teams.

ACC

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets:The Ramblin' Wreck draw North Carolina before they get all of the kinks of their suspended roster worked out.  Miami visits Atlanta and the 'Jackets put up 300 yards rushing on Virginia Tech last season.

Big East

Pittsburgh Panthers: Dion Lewis is the best RB never on television.  Watch him Thursday night against Utah.  He has a little bit of Barry Sanders in him.  DE Greg Romeus is a probable #1 draft pick.  The only question mark for Pitt is at QB where sophomore Tino Sunseri will make his 1st start.  He has an NFL quality target in WR Jonathan Baldwin.

Big Ten +1

Iowa Hawkeyes:  Call me crazy, but I like the Hawkeyes over Ohio State.  They have a difficult game @Arizona in the 3rd week of the season, but in Big 10 play all of their tough games (Wisconsin, PSU, OSU) are in Des Moines.  I like the guts of Ricky Stansi.  I like the best DL in college football.  I even like Iowa co-eds.

Big 12

Oklahoma:  The more I analyze the OU/Texas matchup, the more I struggle to find ways for Texas to score against Oklahoma.  OU has an experience advantage at almost every position on offense and enough on the DL to give Texas trouble.  A visit to Nebraska is also no picnic for the Longhorns.  I think Garret Gilbert is going to be a good QB, but Landry Jones is better at this point in time.

Pac 10

Arizona Wildcats: The time is now for Mike Stoops.  QB Nick Foles came on in a big way at the end of the season and Stoops has never struggled to put together a defense.  The 'Cats draw USC, Washington, and Oregon State at home.  They also have a high profile OOC game with the Iowa Hawkeyes.

SEC

Florida Gators:  I'm taking the Gators somewhat by default.  Take a look at the SEC East and find me a team that's going to beat out the Gators.  In the SEC West, Bama, Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas probably all think they have a shot to play in the SEC title game.  The Gators can probably afford to lose to Alabama and LSU and still win the division as long as they beat Georgia.  I would not bet the farm on this predicition.

Apparently I'm late to this party, but there is a new viral phenomenon called the "Bed Intruder Song".  You see there was an apartment intrusion in Alabama, and the news station covering the story ran into a very interesting brother of the victim.  Watch the original news story and then the unbelievable music video about the story.
