Texans Win

The Texans rode a dominant performance from their OL and a record setting 230 yards rushing and 3 TD's from Arian Foster to a definitive 34-24 beatdown of the defending AFC champion Indianapolis Colts.  The game was not as close as the score would indicate.  The Texans dominated the 1st 20 minutes of the game only to have missed red zone opportunities keep Indianapolis alive.  In the 2nd half, the Texans received the opening kickoff and proceeded to run the ball on 8 consecutive plays to pay dirt.  Major credit to new Texan Wade Smith who is playing much better than anyone could have expected for his new team.  This was no fluke.  The Texans were dominant on both the offensive and defensive lines.

Big time controversy in the Detroit Lions/Chicago Bears game Sunday afternoon.  Calvin Johnson appeared to have caught a game winning TD from backup QB Shawn Hill.  Unfortunately the NFL ruled that he had not completed the catch when the ball hit the grass even though Megatron was palming the football.

The University of Houston makes its debut in the college football polls at #23 following their 54-24 thrashing of the UTEP Miners.  The Cougars had 303 yards rushing and 6 TD's from the combination of Bryce Beall and JUCO sensation Michael PS Hayes.  This week, the Cougars will travel to Los Angeles to take on UCLA in the Rose Bowl.

Cougars QB Case Keenum got destroyed while trying to make a tackle on a 3rd quarter INT.  He left the game with a concussion and is considered "day to day".

How good is Michigan Freshman QB Denard Robinson?  Do you think Rich Rodriguez might finally have a QB to run his spread option attack?

Another college player you have to keep your eye on is Oregon RB LaMichael James.
